Of this paper Roger says: 'this study provides a new insight into emotional intelligence and is an excellent example of methodological triangulation: Rasch analysis and factor analysis - from item response theory and classical test theory respectively - show a novel dimension of 'social connection' to the construct of emotional intelligence'.

Faculty staff links to impact factor journals

The 2013 Thomson Reuters Journal Impact Factor tables have been published.  The impact factor for Journal of Advanced Nursing (JAN) has increased to 1.685 and places 18/106 journals.  JAN remains the highest cite academic nursing journal in the world with 11383 citations in 2013.  Professors Roger Watson and Mark Hayter are editors with JAN.

In addition International Emergency Nursing has appeared to the list for the first time with an entry impact factor of 0.721.  Mike Parker, another faculty member, sits on their advisory board.
