Nurisng student Emily Howbridge nominated for the finals of a national contest which celebrates healthcare students and educators

Emily Howbridge, a third year BSc (Hons) in Nursing (Learning Disability) student, was recently short-listed in the Learning Disabilities Student Nurse of the Year category of the Student Nursing Times Awards. She was nominated by mentors in practice after producing information for a series of workshops for parents of children and young people who have a learning disability, enabling them to have a better understanding.

Emily was interviewed by a panel of judges in London and although she did not win the top award she was delighted to have been short-listed for such a prestigious prize and attended the awards ceremony at London’s Park Lane Hilton on 28th April.

Emily felt that it was an amazing achievement to be nominated and short-listed to the final 10.
