Global Challenges Research Fund project on gender equality in rural India.

Professor Mark Hayter and Dr Anand Ahankari were in India recently completing work on their Global Challenges Research Fund project on gender equality in rural India. The visit included establishing a national expert advisory panel on gender equality research, disseminating the results of the project and discussing future research plans. The project completed a survey of 1400 Indian adolescents that measured their attitudes towards gender equality and a qualitative evaluation of gender equality groups in 12 rural villages in the state of Maharashtra, India.
