Nicki Credland to coordinate Nursing Standard Series
Nicki Credland, Lecturere in Critical Care has accepted a contract as series co-ordinator for 22 specialist critical care articles for Nursing Standard. They will be published late 2016 early 2017. Topics include inotropes, sepsis, sedation, arterial blood gas analysis, acute renal failure and haemofiltration, invasive ventilation and endotracheal intubation

Kate Heaney and Jane Gill nominated for Student-Led Teaching Award
Kate Heaney, an administrator in the Faculty, has been shortlisted for the HUU Student-Led Teaching Awards in the Administration and Support Staff category. Jane Gill, a lecturer in the Faculty has also been shortlisted. The shortlist was announced on the Hull University Union website.Other members of the Faculty have been shortlisted in previous years (Mike Parker, twice, and Kate Bowers), with Mike winning his category two years ago. Kate is the first non-academic member of staff in the Faculty to be shortlisted.

Donald Trump invited to launch new Faculty of Health & Social Work
Possible US Presidential candidate, the business man Donald Trump, has been invited to the University of Hull to launch the new Faculty of Health and Social Care.
Mr Trump, who will be accompanied by his wife, will give a speech based on his developing philosophy of healthcare:

- All healthcare to be paid for at the point of delivery
- People ought to take responsibilty for their own health and nobody else's
- Registed nursing ought to be scrapped in favour of cheaper alternatives
- Information about your health status ought to be freely available for all relavent authorities to see
- Less money should be spent on healthcare
- Five of the 6Cs ought to be abandoned - starting with 'compassion'
- Other nationals should have no access to your healthcare system
- Our country our rules
- Lower taxes for all
